Valerie Steele is a renowned fashion historian and fashion expert. As the director and chief curator of The Museum at FIT, New York, Steele has been responsible for some of the most important exhibitions on contemporary fashion in the United States e.g. Belgian Fashion: Antwerp Style, Toledo/Toledo or Dreaming in Print: a Decade of Visionaire.
Steele has published many articles and several books on fashion and is editor-in-chief of Fashion Theory - The Journal of Dress, Body & Culture, which is published by Berg Publishers four times a year.
