Lydia Kamitsis is a fashion historian and theorist. Of Greek descent and born in Lebanon, Kamitsis originally came to Paris to study art history and archeology at the Sorbonne University. A meeting with Yvonne Deslandres – one of fashion history’s most luminous personalities – encouraged Lydia Kamitsis to specialise in fashion and join the “Union Française des Arts du Costume” (UFAC) in 1986 for which she organised and curated many French and international exhibitions as well as signed responsible for various publications.
