text Since the mid 1980’s, the city of Antwerp in northern Belgium has produced an amazing efflorescence of avant-garde designers who are revolutionising the world of fashion. Featuring more than 75 clothing ensembles, this exhibition explored these influential designers whose cutting-edge garments have put Belgium in the vanguard of fashion.

On view were designs representing the Antwerp Six. This group of experimental designers graduated from Antwerp's innovative fashion school, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, in the early 1980’s. Included were designs by Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten, Dirk Van Saene, and Martin Margiela.
