The belgian born Bruno Pieters (age 27) graduated from the Royal Academy of Antwerp with honours in 1999 and went straight to work as an assistant designer for Martin Margiela, Josephus Thimister and Christian Lacroix Haute Couture. He also worked as a freelance designer for companies such as New York Industry (Milan) and Antonio Pernas (Madrid).
In july 2001, Bruno presented as first belgian graduate of the Royal Academy for Fine Arts Antwerp a couture collection during Paris Couture Week. The collection was entitled part I: daywear. the suit. The first couture collection was a small presentation of 12 pieces based on the study of one item, such as the suit.
