The Flanders Fashion Institute was founded in 1997 by Linda Loppa, together with Geert Bruloot, Patrick De Muynck and Gerdi Esch. Aim of the project was to internationally promoting its pioneering role on the world fashion scene, and to support and perpetuate it.
Its efforts resulted in the realization of a unique project that combined a fashion school, a museum, a library with reading room, an archive department, a forum and an institute all under one roof: the ModeNatie. This building will become the platform for students and designers and will attract fashion specialists and tourists alike, as a HOME for the international fashion scene.
