This exhibition was the first event of the new Fashion Museum (MoMu) under the direction of its curator Linda Loppa in collaboration with guest curator Bob Verhelst.
The relationship between geometry and fashion is by no means obvious. A formal analysis of clothing brings out its relationship with geometry. Each piece of clothing - regardless of its origin or material - can in fact be reduced to a geometrical surface or to a 2-dimensional pattern of flat surfaces. The exhibition sought to apply such a formal analysis to contemporary fashion, historical and ethnical clothing.
