José Teunissen (1959) works as a journalist and is a curator at the Centraal Musuem in Utrecht, the Netherlands. She studied Dutch Linguistics and Cinematic Science at the Catholic University of Nijmegen where she specialised herself on the domain of the role of costumes in narrative cinema, specifically the Hollywood cinema.
After graduating, she taught Photography and Cinematic history at the Academy for the Arts of Tilburg and Film ethics at the University of Amsterdam. She also wrote about cinema for Skreen and Versus, and as a fashion journalist for the newspapers Volkskrant and Trouw.
