In contrast to traditional retail planning, the merchandising area has been placed towards the rear of the store, freeing the front space to be used as a reception area visible from the street. The store houses an installation by Jenny Holzer in the second of the three spaces where monolithic boxes in rigorous succession reveal themselves as freestanding cabinets containing the collections.
A full-height translucent glass wall draws the visitor to the rear space, providing the dressing room area with a private and elegant atmosphere.
Each of the three spaces are further defined by distinct lighting. The reception area is downlit; the merchandising area is uplit from the top of the cabinets; and the dressing rooms are exposed to natural daylight.
The store stocks all Helmut Lang collections both for men and women. A special service is provided upon request for VIP's.
